NYT SPORTS: SNOW (NYTSS) is a snow tour to Hokkaido, Japan for the winter season. NYTSS is an extension of NYTS. NYTS promotes a positive global attitude toward snow sports between diverse cultures. The Winter Olympics will be going on this season and we’re going bigger and global with NYT SPORTS: SNOW !

The tour is a great opportunity for you to explore the mountains of Hokkaido, Japan during the winter season. Hokkaido is the northern island in Japan and features some of the most beautiful terrains. Nine days of riding in the best powder in the world will make you question the snow in the stateside forever. So we came up with a 12 day tour to satisfy serious riders and a 7 day tour for those who aren’t able to take a 12 day vacation. The trip happenings will be shared through the NEW YORK – TOKYO website as we update daily on what goes on. There’s not much to think here.   • Rusutsu – The single largest resort in Hokkaido. This modern resort which is popular among families have many activities including snowmobiling, dog-sledding, sports bars, karaoke, and others.
  • Niseko Grand Hirafu – The Niseko region is one of the destinations for powder hunters from around the world. With their off-piste runs and terrains that are blessed with deep powder, you will see why this region receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the world. There are places to hang out such as the BD Cafe that offers a more familiar western atmosphere for out of towners.
  • Sapporo Teine – The resort is close to Sapporo and is the destination for urban riders. The resort features night riding as well as terrain parks. To enjoy post-riding relaxation, Sapporo City is only 45 minutes away.
  • Sapporo City – The capital of Hokkaido has plenty to offer from fresh seafood, urban nightlife, Sapporo Beer, Miso Ramen, to the diverse historical landmarks. A day of wandering the city will sure to intrigue you in the largest city on the northern island of Japan.
