MoMA “Items: Is Fashion Modern?” to open this Sunday

This coming Sunday (Oct.1), the Museum of Modern Art will unveil “Items: Is Fashion Modern?,” its first fashion exhibition since 1944.

501, biker jacket, graphic t-shirt, little black dress, polo shirt, turtle neck, tights, yoga pants…111 garments of the 20th and 21th century’s that changed the world are curated by Paola Antonelli, MoMA’s senior curator of architecture and design and director of R&D. Those exact 111 items are listed but each is represented by more than one sample….like Calvin Klein brief, wonder bra, Somarta’s Skin series and others are under ‘tights”…., so around 350 pieces in total are exhibited,
