An ode to Japanese modernism by Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta creative director since 2001, Tomas Maier is also an architecture buff who recently visited Japan to see some of the country’s most emblematic buildings. Premiering the new film exclusively for Vogue.fr, the designer spoke from Hotel Okura about why he wants to raise awareness about the importance of preserving these national treasures, slated for demolition to make way for the 2020 Olympic Games. Through beautiful images, soft music and a clear message, the short film focuses on modernism made in Japan, revealing a struggle of cultural heritage dear to the heart of the Bottega Veneta designer.
